Most commercial buildings are metered at the boundary and estimated everywhere else. That makes it difficult to say which system, floor or tenant is responsible for consumption, and impossible to tell whether a change has actually saved anything.
PGSO Sync smart metering measures energy where it is used rather than where it enters the building. Consumption can then be attributed to specific systems, areas or tenants, and reported over time rather than reconciled once a quarter.
In practice that supports three things: accurate recharging where energy is billed on to occupiers, evidence for energy and carbon reporting that is measured rather than estimated, and early detection of waste, such as plant continuing to run outside occupied hours.
